Submission Guidelines

• Projects will be unique submissions created by students. Adult supervision is allowed, but it must be clear that the work was done by the students themselves
• Each student is allowed one entry, as an individual or as a group
• Students will create a visual aid to accompany their project and display, which will include a reflection piece with project goals, challenges, solutions, lessons learned, etc. See Reflection Questions for more information
• Students will not make formal presentations, but will share their project and reflection with judges. Students will be available to answer questions
• Students will bring all necessary computers. All digital media will be displayed on the computer, printed copies of design will not suffice
• Judges will limit time at each display to ten minutes

Reflection Questions

These are suggested questions to discuss with students as they incorporate reflection in their display. Please only use questions that are pertinent to students' work. Feel free to add any other questions not listed here.

• What inspired you to develop your project?
• What ideas were at the core of your concept?
• What were the goals of your project?
• What challenges did you experience?
• How did you overcome these challenges?
• What problems did you have to solve?
• What did you learn about yourself?
• What did you learn about working with others?
• What did you learn about the technology you used?
• If you could do your project over, what would you do differently?
• What are some real-life applications of your idea?

Students may choose to add the reflection directly to their projects when applicable, by using extra pages in the same software. They may also choose to use a different software or media. Remember each display will only have the judges' attention for 10 min!

Who is eligible to participate?

Any student in the state of Colorado attending:
3-5 Grades
6-8 Grades
9-12 Grades
